Pondering : How Famous Our Indonesian President is, in The Internet, Based on Mr. Google’s Findings ?

So I have been so random in recent days and I found an intriguing thing, a feature on Google which I barely knew before, it’s Google Trends ! Sorry for not sorry, I never explored google much up until I had this much leisure time at home. Well, enough for that, what I wanna say right now is, let’s play a little bit with Google Trends. My first thought when I saw this feature was, we can see popularity in a glimpse, well basically. So now, I wonder how trendy our national president is, compared to other presidents in the world. Let’s see...

You can see that from the line graph above, Barack Obama was leading this president spectrum with 11 peaks and stable graph generally. Despite that, Joko Widodo caught a number of netizen as well, and at times, it even surpassed Obama and Putin. Although, I cant say whether the distribution of people in the graph represented the whole nations enough or not. However, I can say that at times, there were a set huge number of interests toward Joko Widodo. On the other hand, Lee and Najib were slightly showing a plateau in the same period like others. In summary, I can say, Indonesia President was pretty popular based on the graph, yet, it actually didnt typify a lot since I used only five nation leaders.

 

 

 

However, it made me to ponder more related to this matter, so I checked the google search and tried to search their names in order to see how many words counted refer to each leaders’ full name. As a result, I got what you can see above. Our USA leader was still leading according to it followed by Putin, Najib, Jokowi, and Lee. Pretty much the same with what google trends has shown us. Nonetheless, this google search results were not demostrating enough of how trendy those presidents are, but more into how many mentions of related keyword in the google database based on SEOchat’s definition, so it could be another Najib that is an engineer, not Najib who is the prime minister of Malaysia. 

Anyway, my little playing with google’s features illustrating that Joko Widodo is obviously still better than some other nation leaders in the world in terms of his presence in the internet. Now we can ask more like what factors made those numbers, is it because Indonesia has bigger populations? or merely some people in the world does concern about our national president? Well, who knows. Should be my homework, I guess.
